Experience Engaging, Enlightening, and Empowering Workshops

Parent University is a FREE workshop event for parents, students, educators and the community. Attendance is mandatory for all current St. Philip’s parents. First through eighth grade students can participate in free workshops. Childcare will be provided for St. Philip's students in PK- Kindergarten. No children are allowed in the Adult Workshops, all children will be in their designated workshops or groups. This is a no-homework night. 
 
Vendors onsite 4:30 pm to 7:15 pm. Food will be available for purchase.

It Takes a Village: Understanding Challenging Behaviors in Children

We will explore concepts related to understanding the emotional and behavioral needs of children, supportive caregiving strategies, and when seeking additional help may be important.
Presented by Michael Selders, PhD and Katherine Bellone Mount, PhD


Raising Confident and Competent Children

Instilling these concepts in children: Show Respect to Others, Be Considerate, Have Good Communication Skills, Have a Healthy Self-Esteem, Become a Good Problem Solver, Be Independent

5th through 8th grade: American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Dallas Branch  

Interactive Presentation: Discover what civil engineers do and how they shape our communities.
Hands-On Activity: Students will put engineering concepts into action with a fun, creative exercise.
Come learn, build, and explore engineering with us!

Register for Parent University

  • Even if your child is not attending, we need the name of the oldest student enrolled at SPSCC for every adult that registers.
