A Message From the Athletic Director
St. Philips School and Community Center's middle school athletics program continues to thrive, with outstanding performances across various sports. Athletes in 3rd-8th grade can participate in volleyball, track, and basketball. This year, the volleyball team had a strong showing with several first-time players who exceeded expectations, led by Coach Morrison.
In the 2024-25 season, the boys' team, under the leadership of Coach Smith, achieved an undefeated season, and Coach Jordan guided the girls' team to a perfect record as well. This remarkable achievement highlights the strength and dedication of both teams.
St. Philips also shone brightly in the all-star basketball games. Brycen Patton and Donavan Smith Jr. represented the boys' team in the boys' all-star game, where their team emerged victorious. On the girls' side, Lauren Williamson and Desirae Bedford played pivotal roles in leading their team to victory in the girls' all-star game, showcasing the depth of talent at St. Philips.
As the track season kicks off this year, there's much to look forward to after the incredible success of the previous season. In the 2023-24 season, the girls' team finished 4th overall with only 6 athletes, and the boys' team placed 3rd overall with just 8. This year, the track team has grown significantly, with the Lady Saints now at 16 athletes and the Saints at 14, offering a strong foundation for another exciting and successful season.
Looking ahead, St. Philips anticipates continued success in all sports. The school is excited to introduce a rowing team, further expanding its athletic offerings. With such growth and enthusiasm, St. Philips’ athletics program is poised for another successful season across the board.
