  • Community Outreach Programs

  • We understand that being in the neighborhood means giving back to the neighborhood. That's why we offer programs that help enrich the lives of those in our community.

  • Meals on Wheels / Food Pantry
St. Philip’s enables more than 300 individuals to receive a hot meal daily through our Meals on Wheels depot in a collaborative effort between St. Philip’s School and Community Center and the Visiting Nurses Association. The Food Pantry, in collaboration with the North Texas Food Bank, also helps families in need by providing canned goods and hygiene products.

  • Angel Tree / Community Thanksgiving Dinner
Every year, St. Philip’s School and Community Center provides our neighbors a complete Thanksgiving meal at a served lunch on the Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving, as well as distributing turkeys, household items and toys for children during the holidays.

  • Christmas Store
Countless gifts for Christmas are provided to families each year through the Christmas Store designed for Angel Tree recipients to shop with “free Christmas Bucks”. Our annual event serves over 150 low income families with toys, clothes, toiletries, household items and groceries each year with free gift-wrapping. Applications for families to participate are accepted through the month of November only.

  • Collaboration Efforts
St. Philips makes an effort to work with community organizations, including Jr. League of Dallas, Circle of Support Inc., University Outreach, and Urban League of Dallas.

  • Adult Education Classes
GED/ESL/CareerWorks classes are offered twice a week in collaboration with the Wilkerson Center for residents of Southern Dallas and Fair Park areas free of charge. Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Look for computer and financial literacy classes to begin in 2008!

  • Free Legal Clinic
Provided free of charge every 3rd Tuesday of each month starting at 6:00 pm, local residents have the opportunity to meet with an attorney.
